Meet Dr. Hassan Brown – Your Partner in Growth
Welcome! I'm so glad you're here.
My mission is to intentionally integrate wellness practices into any workplace and help prioritize self-care for working professionals.
A little more about me: I am a leader at the intersection of wellness, education, and technology. With over 20 years of cross-sector experience and a Doctorate in Education Leadership from Harvard University, I’ve dedicated my career to bridging social justice, education, emerging technologies, and wellness. As CEO and founder of SMASH: Career Catalyst and Chief Innovation Officer of SMASH Digital Programs, I develop innovative education technology initiatives that open doors for BIPOC youth in STEM and workforce pathways.
Recognizing the importance of holistic well-being, I founded Better With Brown to offer yoga, wellness workshops, and coaching for youth, educators, and leaders.
My journey – from overcoming early challenges with the criminal legal system to roles as a teacher, investigator, analyst, and innovation leader – fuels my passion for creating equitable opportunities. Today, I advise startups focused on youth well-being and continue to champion wellness as the foundation for sustainable impact and personal growth.
Discovering Wellness Through Global Experiences
My journey in wellness has taken me across the globe, where I’ve immersed myself in diverse practices and spiritual traditions. As a life-long learner, I am dedicated to empowering others by sharing the invaluable lessons I’ve gathered along the way. Through my travels and experiences, I hope to inspire individuals to embrace wellness in their lives.
A NOTE FROM HASSAN
I’ve spent my life working in a number of “high burnout” careers. I’ve pursued certificates, degrees, and switched sectors, all as a way of taking a break from one job to the next. But what I realized as I got older was that I was just replacing one form of work with another form of work. I wasn’t listening to the physical, mental, or energetic needs of my body.
I decided to do a yoga teacher training at my wife’s request. At this point, yoga was something I’d done during my active recovery days because, in my mind, it was simply “stretching.”
In pursuit of deeper learning, I’ve traveled the globe to learn from healers, teachers, and thought leaders that challenged and expanded my heart and mind.
These interactions have forever transformed me and my passion is to continue learning while bringing others along while on this journey. If you are reading this, then consider this an invitation to step onto the path and pursue this journey together. Let the adventure begin!
